9/16/2024

Deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on SH 21 at CR 400. Crash report taken by DPS.

Criminal Trespass Warning was served at an address on CR 121.

Deputies conducted a requested welfare check at a residence on FM 141.

Caller reported a traffic hazard on Hwy 77 South. Deputy arrived and determined that the cones were set out for the lineman that were working there.

Deputies responded to FM 696 West for a vehicle fire.

Caller reported a suspicious vehicle on CR 131. Deputy arrived and determined it was the postmaster assisting their employee.

Deputies assisted GPD with a shots fired report in the 1700 block of West Austin Street. One subject was arrested and secured in the Lee County Jail.

Deputy and Trooper responded to a one vehicle minor crash on SH 21 at CR 107. Crash report taken by DPS.

 

9/17/2024

Deputies and Trooper worked a commercial vehicle crash vs. livestock at FM 3403/SH 21.

Complainant met with a Deputy at the sheriff's office in reference to a fraud investigation.

Motorist reported a single vehicle lost control on SH 21 and crashed into the brush. Deputy responded to investigate.

Deputy assisted a motorist with a vehicle unlock.

Deputies responded to the Lee County Jail for a disruptive inmate. Matter resolved.

 

9/18/2024

Dispatch received report of a minor vehicle vs. mailbox crash on CR 114. DPS took crash report.

Deputy took report of an animal bite from CR 213.

Sergeant responded to a residence on CR 133 in regard to shots fired. Deputy made location and determined that there was no problem.

Deputy took report of an animal bite from CR 304.

Deputy spoke with a complainant in regard to a harassment report.

Sheriff, Deputies, and Troopers assisted SO Fayette County with a suspect on FM 448. A brief pursuit took place, before tires were spiked, and the suspect tried to evade on foot before being arrested and taken to Lee County Jail.

Lee County Dispatch received report of a major crash along FM 448 involving a train vs. truck. Sheriff and Deputies responded to the scene with VFD and EMS. The scene was located just inside the Fayette County line. The scene was turned over the Fayette County authorities.

Deputy assisted a motorist with a vehicle unlock.

Caller requested to speak with a Deputy in regard to theft and criminal trespass.

Motorist reported a truck vs. livestock crash at SH 21/FM 3403. Deputies responded to the scene to investigate.

 

9/19/2024

Deputies responded to a minor crash on FM 696 of a vehicle vs. deer.

Deputy was involved in a minor crash at Orange/Independence Street with another vehicle.

Deputies assisted SO Bastrop County with the service of a warrant.

 

9/20/2024

Deputy responded to check on a minor one vehicle crash on Hwy 290 east.

Complainant met with a Deputy at the sheriff's office to file a fraud report.

Complainant met with a Deputy at the sheriff's office to file a theft report.

Deputies and Troopers conducted a welfare check on a male subject on Hwy 290 West. A Deputy transported the individual to an out-of-county facility for treatment.

Dispatch notified TxDOT of deceased livestock from previous crash at SH 21/FM 3403.

Deputies responded to a disturbance at FM 696/FM 619. Deputies met with the involved parties and determined that no offense had taken place. Peace restored.

Sheriff, Deputies, Troopers, and GVFD assisted GPD with traffic control after railroad arms malfunctioned.

Deputies reported an oversized load that struck the underpass at Galveston Street. Crash worked by GPD.

SO Bastrop County advised their units were in pursuit of a maroon Dodge on Hwy 290, before losing sight. Deputies checked Hwy 290 but were unable to locate the vehicle.

 

9/21/2024

Deputies responded to a noise disturbance at a property off of CR 118. Deputies made contact with the parties involved.

SO Washington County reported a verbal altercation on Hwy 290 involving a white BMW. Deputy checked to the county line and was unable to locate any vehicle matching the description.

Deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence on CR 329. Male and female parties were separated.

Sergeant responded to a civil matter call on CR 414.

Deputies assisted with funeral escort from Giddings to Dime Box.

Sheriff and Deputies conducted walk-thru patrols at Giddings Fiesta.

Deputy conducted a requested welfare check on an individual and all was okay.

Motorist reported a minor crash in a parking lot at the truck stop in Old Dime Box on SH 21. Deputy responded to investigate.

Deputy conducted a requested welfare check on an individual and all way okay.

Complainant spoke with a Deputy about trespassing on CR 118.

Deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call/civil matter at a property off of FM 141. All okay.

 

9/22/2024

Lee County Dispatch notified of a "severe crash" on CR 309 via automated phone message. Deputy arrived and located a shattered cell phone, but no crash.

Motorist reported a traffic hazard on FM 141. Deputy located and spoke with the operator of a mini-bike, who was advised to stay off the roadway.

Deputy released found property to owner at the sheriff's office.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on Wells St. Deputies determined verbal only, peace restored.

Deputies responded to Westwood Lane on an animal complaint.

Deputy responded to a burglary report at a storage unit on Main Avenue. After investigation, the complaint was unfounded.

Deputies checked the VFD on FM 696 for a report of a suspicious Ford truck and two male subjects walking around the building. Close patrol in effect.

 

Deputies made 56 traffic stops, 27 security checks, and responded to 40 animal complaints for this reporting period.
