8/19/2024 - 8/25/2024


 

8/19/2024 

Deputy responded to FM 112 to dispatch a deer that was struck by a vehicle.

Complainant reported a burglary of a building on Hwy 290 West. Deputy and Investigator responded to the scene to process the scene and take information for an offense report.

Precinct 1 Commissioner reported illegal dumping at FM 180/CR 127. Deputy responded to the scene.

Deputy assisted a motorist with a vehicle unlock on W. Austin Street.

Sergeant met with a complainant at the office in regard to missing/stolen livestock. Report taken.

Deputy met with a reporting party at a convenience store on Hwy 77 North in regard to a matter that occurred in Burleson County.

Deputy investigated an assault that occurred on FM 448.

Motorist reported a black truck parked off CR 114 west of Hwy 77 North. It was reported that the driver appeared to be unresponsive. Deputies, GPD Officers, Constable Pct. 2, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene. Patient was transported by EMS.

Motorist reported a vehicle crashed into a fence on PR 4152. The driver had left on foot and was last seen near the Church. Driver was located by Deputy and LPD Officer. Driver refused medical treatment, and the incident was documented by information report.

Motorist reported a truck hauling a load of rock passed and damaged their windshield. Caller further reported that both vehicles stopped and there was an argument. Deputy made location and a report was taken.

Deputy responded to SH 21/CR 440 for a requested welfare check on a male subject walking. Deputy made contact with the individual and provided a courtesy ride.

Deputy checked on an abandoned travel trailer at SH 21/FM 2440. The trailer was red tagged.

 

8/20/2024

Motorist reported a one vehicle rollover crash on FM 696 East. Deputy, Trooper, Lee County EMS, and Lexington VFD responded to work the scene.

Deputy responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at a business in Lexington. Deputy identified but was unable to contact the vehicle owner. The business was informed of their right to call a wrecker service.

Citizen reported a suspicious vehicle parked on CR 223 that was unoccupied. Deputies made location and contacted the owner of the vehicle who claimed he knew the owner of the residence he was parked in front of. Deputies confirmed the information with the homeowner and the subject was released.

Motorist reported loose livestock at Hwy 290 East/FM 180 at 0400. Deputies located a deceased cow, and the remaining livestock were returned to pasture.

Another Deputy checked on a disabled semi parked at a convenience store on East Austin Street. It was determined to be involved in a crash with the livestock on Hwy 290 East.

 

8/21/2024

Deputy responded to PR 3071 for a report of a dog bite.

Motorist reported a road rage incident on East Austin Street. One vehicle waited for police and the second left on Hwy 290. The license plate information was gathered for a report.

Deputy met with a complainant at the office to take a fraud report.

 

8/22/2024

Citizen made complaint of reckless driving on FM 696 West. Information passed to Enforcement division.

SO Fayette County notified Lee County Dispatch of a pursuit on Hwy 77 northbound toward Lee County. Lee County Deputies responded to assist, however the vehicle stopped in Fayette County.

Deputy took report of an assault at the office. Case forwarded to LCSO criminal investigations.

Deputy responded to FM 180 in regard to an animal cruelty report.

Sergeant attempted a requested welfare check; however, the individual no longer lived at the given address.

Sergeant checked out with GPD at a bank alarm. All okay.

Deputies met with a reporting party in regard to a juvenile matter. Report taken.

Motorist reported a gray vehicle ran over the curb at Lexington ISD at 0300. Deputy and LCEMS responded to the scene. The vehicle was towed, and the driver was provided a courtesy ride to Giddings.

Motorist reported a black Nissan parked in the middle of CR 133 without a driver or anyone near the vehicle. Deputy made location and summoned a rotation wrecker service.

 

8/23/2024

Citizen made report of estray livestock at property on CR 308. Estray report initiated, and arrangement made for pick up.

Complainant from CR 233 reported a stray dog that attacked livestock. Deputy met with the reporting party and investigated the matter.

Sergeant conducted various compliance checks with local registered sex offenders.

Deputies assisted with funeral escort from Loebau to Hwy 77.

While on patrol, a Deputy was flagged down and notified of a disabled vehicle in the road on CR 226. The vehicle and driver were located, and a rotation wrecker service was summoned.

Deputies escorted an oversized load from Hwy 77 to SH 21 East County line.

Caller reported a fully involved structure fire at a property on FM 180. Giddings and Post Oak VFD were paged out. Sheriff, Deputies, and Constable Pct. 2 responded to the scene. GVFD requested mutual aid from Ledbetter VFD. LCEMS was on stand-by at the scene.

Deputy met with a complainant in the lobby in regard to a scam. Report taken.

Citizen reported an estray bull on CR 430. Deputy made contact for an estray report and to arrange pick up.

Caller reported a two-vehicle rollover crash in the 4100 block of Hwy 77. There were injuries reported and the vehicles were blocking traffic. Lincoln VFD and LCEMS were paged to the scene. Deputies and Trooper responded as well.

Caller reported estray livestock at property off of CR 127. Deputy made contact for an estray report and to arrange pick up.

Deputies assisted Giddings Police with a disturbance at Rolling Oaks Drive.

Deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on CR 123. Parties were separated.

SO Milam County transferred a shots fired call from CR 413. Deputies patrolled the area but did not locate any activity.

Deputies located an intoxicated male subject on Hwy 77 South, who was released to a family member.

 

8/24/2024 

Complainant reported a physical domestic disturbance at an address on CR 405 East. The reporting party stated that one family member stabbed another with a steak knife. One female subject was transported from the scene on an emergency detention order; and the female victim refused medical treatment.

Deputy and Trooper assisted with a funeral escort from Giddings to Hwy 77 North County line.

Deputy responded to a requested welfare check at an apartment complex on Hwy 77 North. Deputy arrived and located a deceased male subject. Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace held an inquest at the scene.

Complainant came to the office to file a theft report against a known suspect. Deputy took the information for an offense report.

Deputy checked on a disabled semi on Hwy 77 South. Deputy followed the truck to a service station.

Deputy checked on an abandoned vehicle on Willow Creek. Vehicle was red tagged.

Deputy made a traffic stop on Hwy 290 West for a violation. A probable cause search was conducted, and a female suspect was placed under arrest for possession of controlled substance and secured in Lee County Jail.

Motorist reported a two-vehicle head-on crash at Hwy 77/SH 21. Deputies arrived at the scene and advised that SH 21 was shut down. Lincoln VFD and LCEMS were summoned to scene. Trooper worked the crash.

Motorist reported a one vehicle crash on Hwy 290 East/CR 234. Deputies arrived to investigate. Rotation wrecker was summoned, and the driver was provided a courtesy ride.

 

8/25/2024

Complainant reported a suspicious tan in color Chevy Malibu parked on CR 133. Deputy responded to the location however the vehicle was gone upon arrival. The license plate was noted by the reporting party and provided to the Deputy for follow-up.

Deputies assisted Giddings PD with a physical disturbance in progress at a residence on E. Liberty Street.

Male subject called 911 and stated that he wanted to go to Jail. Deputies responded to the location to investigate. One male subject was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Complainant called from First Street to report that he found a bag of drugs near his driveway. Deputy responded to the location to investigate and seize the items.

Caller requested a welfare check on a neighbor on Avenue E. Deputies made location and made forced entry due to exigent circumstances. Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace was summoned to the scene for an inquest.

Caller reported a physical disturbance at a residence on First Street between a male and a female. Caller further reported hearing a gunshot. Deputies arrived on scene and met with the female. The male suspect surrendered to Deputies at gunpoint and was arrested and secured in the Lee County Jail.
