Suspect Arrested Following Shots Fired in Lexington
Lee County, Texas - On Tuesday February 4, 2025 at approximately 8:09pm, the Lee County Sheriff's Office Communications Center received an emergency call regarding shots fired in the area of Gary Street in the City of Lexington.
Deputies of the Lee County Sheriff's Office, along with Lee County Constable Pct.2, Lee County Constable Pct. 3, Lexington Police Department, and Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety promptly responded to the scene. One male suspect was quickly located and apprehended without incident.
The Lee County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division determined through the course of the investigation, that a disturbance had occurred between two adults. During that incident, one of the individuals fired two rounds from a handgun into the ground as the other party was driving away. No one was injured in the disturbance.
"Troy Green" (31) was taken into custody and secured into the Lee County Jail on the offense of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, which is a Class A misdemeanor.
Lexington ISD was hosting a home basketball game in the high school gym at the time of the shots fired report. Lexington Police and Milam County Sheriff's Office were working security for the game, and the gym was placed on lockdown out of an abundance of caution due to the close proximity to the disturbance scene. After the suspect was detained and the scene was rendered safe, the lockdown was released.
