5/27/2024 - 6/2/2024


 

5/27/2024 

Complainant reported gate damage along with a wrecked vehicle at property on CR 314A. Deputy responded to investigate and discovered the vehicle was reported stolen from this agency on 5/8/2024. The vehicle was towed to the sheriff's office impound.

Caller reported a tractor fire at property on CR 216. South Lee County VFD and Sergeant responded to the scene. Fire extinguished and an information report was taken.

Motorist requested a welfare check on an individual slumped over in a vehicle on FM 448. Deputies made contact with the individual who was okay.

Complainant reported reckless driving on CR 114. Deputy responded to the area to investigate.

 

5/28/2024

CID Sergeant launched drone on CR 314A to supplement the investigation of the recovered stolen vehicle.

Deputy transported and processed one juvenile.

Sergeant met with a complainant at the sheriff's office in regard to theft of property. Report taken.

Dispatch received information of an individual screaming behind the SLCVFD on FM 448. Sergeant responded and noted that everything was okay.

Motorist reported a single vehicle crash into the creek on SH 21 West. Deputies, Lincoln VFD, and LCEMS responded to the scene.

 

5/29/2024

Deputy assisted wrecker service with traffic control on SH 21 to remove vehicle from previous crash.

Caller from CR 213 reported that unknown person/s cut the lock on a gate. Deputy responded to investigate.

Motorist reported a male and female walking on FM 141 close to the roadway and requested a welfare check. Deputy responded to the area but was unable to locate the subjects.

Deputy responded to a residence on CR 343 to document information on a dog bite victim.

Motorist reported a large tree blocking the roadway on CR 306. Sergeant and Commissioner Pct. 3 responded. Blue VFD assisted with traffic control while the roadway was cleared.

Criminal Investigators and Deputies responded to a residence on CR 415 West to locate and recover a vehicle reported stolen by Austin Police. Vehicle recovered.

Complainant requested a Deputy to a residence on Hale Street for an investigation. Information report taken.

 

5/30/2024 

Complainant on CR 327 requested assistance with an aggressive dog on their property. Deputy transported the dog to the animal shelter.

Motorist reported a grass fire on SH 21 East of Old Dime Box. Deputy and Dime Box VFD responded, however there was no fire located.

Motorist reported tree down on the roadway at SH 21/CR 430. Deputies were able to clear the roadway.

Motorist reported tree down on SH 21/FM 1624. Sergeant and TxDOT responded.

 

5/31/2024

Motorist reported a car in the ditch on FM 619 surrounded by water. Deputy arrived on scene and noted there was no property damage and the driver already had a wrecker service on the way.

While on patrol, Deputy reported a two-vehicle crash at E. Austin/Orange St. Giddings PD and LCEMS responded.

SO Bastrop County transferred a call of a vehicle blocking one lane of traffic at SH 21/CR 103. Deputy arrived and assisted with traffic control for the stranded motorist.

Dispatch received a phone call requesting assistance with a male subject who was making threats at a RV park on SH 21. Deputies arrived and located the individual who became hostile and resisted arrest. The suspect kicked out a patrol car window and damaged the door. Suspect was transferred to a full caged unit and continued to destroy the interior. Sheriff then rode in the backseat of the patrol car on the ride to Jail. The suspect was booked into Lee County Jail on multiple charges. A Deputy was transported by EMS for injuries sustained during the event.

Dispatch received report of a disturbance in progress at a residence on Blaha Avenue. Deputies responded to the scene to investigate.

Complainant met with a Deputy in regard to a family member sending money to an unknown individual. Report taken.

Motorist reported a one vehicle crash on Willow Creek. Deputy, LCEMS, and Blue VFD responded to the scene.

Deputies assisted Troopers with vehicle pursuit that began on Hwy 290 West and ended on CR 111.

Motorist reported a small red car overturned in the ditch on FM 141 just north of city limits. Deputies responded to the scene. The driver was located at a residence on CR 117 and a wrecker removed the vehicle.

 

6/1/2024 

Caller reported fence down in the 1100 block of CR 117 and loose livestock. Caller also reported further fence damage in the 1500 block of CR 117. Deputies responded to investigate and located a license plate for a local person. Deputies spoke with trail ride organizers on CR 119 who knew of the person. Deputies made contact with the property owner and a report was made.

Citizen requested traffic enforcement on CR 130 due to increased traffic. Location added to close patrols.

Motorist reported a single vehicle crash on SH 21 at CR 453. Deputies, Trooper, LCEMS, Dime Box and Lincoln VFDs responded to the scene. A medical helicopter was landed on scene for a patient. Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 was summoned for an inquest. Funeral home was also called to the scene.

Jail Administrator reported a disabled vehicle at Hwy 77/CR 114. Trooper arrived to investigate, and one subject was arrested.

 

6/2/2024

Deputies assisted Giddings PD in searching for a white GMC pickup that left from a restaurant on E. Austin St. The vehicle was not located.

Deputies responded to a criminal trespass call on CR 130. One male subject was arrested for criminal trespass and booked into Lee County Jail.

Deputy initiated a traffic stop on Hwy 77 North at 11:35pm. A pursuit ensued at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. The pursuit continued into Milam County, where the driver crashed. The driver was transported by EMS. Criminal charges filed for evading arrest and driving while intoxicated.

Motorist reported his 18-wheeler was struck by a silver Toyota Tundra on Hwy 77/CR 114. Caller reported that the Tundra continued on and was swerving all over the roadway. Deputy searched the area but was unable to locate the Tundra. Deputy took a crash report.

Sergeant assisted Giddings PD at a residence on W. Austin St. One subject was transported to Lee County Jail.

Dispatch received a call from a citizen on CR 114, advising that a family member kicked-in their door, stole their truck, and drove off on CR 114. Deputy located the suspect, who was identified as the driver from the previous hit-and-run crash. Male suspect was transported and secured in the Lee County Jail.

 

Deputies responded to 12 false alarm 911 calls. The majority of these calls are the result of new cellular features that automatically detect and report when the phone falls. Please be cognizant of this issue. Deputies conducted 112 traffic stops for this reporting period.

 

Sheriff and Deputies joined other local law enforcement in the 16-hour Active Killer Response training this past week. This has been the second training of the year in Lee County.
