6/17/2024

Caller reported an abandoned blue Dodge Journey parked in the 3900 block SH 21 W. Deputy responded and contacted the owner to remove the vehicle.

Motorist reported a vehicle stalled in the middle of the roadway on FM 448. Deputies responded to assist stranded motorist and the vehicle was removed from the roadway.

Citizen reported a gunshot in the area of the South Lee County VFD. Deputy patrolled the area and was unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Citizen reported a pickup truck driving on CR 226 with a male subject with a flashlight walking beside it. Deputy patrolled the area, but the vehicle/subject were gone upon arrival.

Deputy assisted a stranded motorist at Hwy 290 W/CR 202.

 

6/18/2024

Motorist reported a male subject walking on Hwy 290. Deputy located the individual and all was okay.

Deputies responded to a convenience store in Old Dime Box to investigate a female subject who had made threats to an employee. The individual was located and issued criminal trespass notices.

Complainant from CR E reported a white van pulled into their driveway and asked their child if they wanted a puppy. Deputy located the individual and the matter was resolved. The suspected party knew the reporting party.

Deputy spoke with a complainant from FM 696 W in regard to a missing/stolen license plate. Information taken for report.

SO Fayette transferred a call regarding a reported burglary in progress on Hwy 290 W. Deputies responded to the reported location and met with the complainant. All was okay.

Complainant from SH 21 reported a disturbance at their residence. Deputies responded and a female suspect was arrested for assault family violence and secured in the Lee County Jail.

 

6/19/2024

Citizen reported receiving scam phone calls from an unknown person in regard to a "legal matter". Citizen did not give out any personal information. Verified scam.

Motorist reported a one vehicle crash at Hwy 77 S/CR 223. Deputies and DPS Trooper responded to the scene.

Motorist reported a white Chevy pickup crashed in the 1700 block of E. SH 21. The caller was unable to give any additional details due to the weather. Deputies responded to the scene; however, no vehicle or evidence of a crash was located.

Caller reported a white pickup on CR 217 that lost two tires and was in the roadway. Deputies and Trooper responded to the scene and the vehicle was removed.

 

6/20/2024

Deputies assisted the Jail Staff in the transfer of an inmate within the Jail.

Caller reported an 18-wheeler rollover crash in the 8100 block FM 141. Caller also reported several electrical poles were down with wires sparking on the roadway. Deputies, Constable Pct. 2, DPS Trooper, Dime Box VFD, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene. Bluebonnet Electric was contacted.

 

6/21/2024

Complainant called the sheriff's office to speak with a Deputy in regard to harassment.

Dispatch received an iPhone notification for a crash on FM 696 W/Willow Creek. Deputy, DPS Trooper, Blue VFD, and LCEMS responded to the scene.

Complainant spoke with a Deputy in regard to emails received from "PayPal". Deputy confirmed the emails were a scam.

Deputy assisted Constable Pct. 2 with civil process on Sunrise St.

Complainant reported a theft of service from a business on Hwy 290 E. Deputy responded to investigate and report.

Complainant reported a subject in a white Dodge pickup pointed a firearm at another person on Hwy 290 W. Deputy, Trooper, and Giddings PD located the suspected party. One male subject was arrested for deadly conduct and secured in the Lee County Jail.

Shortly after midnight, a motorist reported a truck in the ditch on CR 130. While on patrol, a Deputy had located the vehicle which had disregarded the stop sign and crashed. Subsequent to an investigation, the driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and secured in the Lee County Jail.

SO Bastrop alerted Lee County Dispatch of a pursuit on Hwy 290, where their units lost visual on the suspect vehicle. Deputies searched Hwy 290, SH 21, and nearby county roads but were unable to locate.

 

6/22/2024

Deputies responded to CR F to conduct a follow-up investigation on a previously reported animal cruelty case. Report taken.

Complainant reported animal cruelty at a residence on CR 229. Deputy responded to investigate and made contact with the animal owner.

Giddings Police forwarded a complainant to the sheriff's office in regard to a harassment case. Deputy met with complainant and a report was taken.

Motorist reported a female walking near the white line on Hwy 290 W. Deputy located the individual and advised that her mother was there to pick her up.

Complainant from CR 441 called to report the theft of a wallet and a burglary of a vehicle. Deputy responded to investigate and report.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Hwy 290 W. The driver was arrested for no driver's license and secured in the Lee County Jail.

 

6/23/2024

Dispatch received numerous 911 calls reporting an 18-wheeler fully involved fire at Hwy 290 W/FM 180. Other callers reported the fire was caused by a crash. Deputies, DPS Troopers, Lee County EMS, Giddings, Ledbetter, Lincoln, and South Lee County volunteer fire departments responded, along with TxDOT and HAZMAT. The highway was shut down for several hours and traffic was diverted. The incident was investigated by DPS.

At 1:00am, a Deputy was contacted in regard to lights being turned on in a barn on FM 141. Deputy checked the property for the complainant; but no criminal activity was found.

Motorist reported a silver pickup in the ditch at FM 141/CR 116. Deputy responded and summoned a wrecker to assist the driver.

 

Deputies are monitoring numerous complaints of speeding on CR's 130, 217, and 430. Please drive safely and obey the posted speed limits on our roadways.
