7/15/2024
Complainant reported illegal dumping on CR 207 between CR's 205 & 208. Deputy responded to investigate and report. Commissioner Pct. 2 was notified.
Deputy transported one individual to an out-of-county facility for crisis intervention treatment.
Sergeant assisted with a requested civil standby at a business on Hwy 290 East.
While on patrol, Deputy located illegal dumping on CR 200. Items were documented and removed.
Sergeant stopped out with a vehicle matching the description of the illegal dumping suspects that was being sought by the Sheriff's Office and Precinct 2. One male suspect fled on foot into the woods. Deputies, GPD, and DPS set up a perimeter and the suspect was located shortly thereafter and taken into custody on Hwy 290 West near the Travel Plaza. The suspect was secured in the Lee County Jail on multiple charges.
Deputy assisted with a civil standby at a residence on Hwy 77.
Deputy assisted GPD officers with a burglary at the Giddings High School concession stand.
Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation at SH 21/FM 1624. The vehicle failed to yield, but eventually stopped on CR 326. Multiple citations issued and driver released.
Complainant reported his tractor lights turned on at 3:30am, and requested a Deputy check the situation. Deputy responded but did not locate any suspicious person/s or activity.
Deputy assisted GPD officers on Old Nails Creek Road on a disturbance involving two juveniles at 5:00am.
7/16/2024
Motorist reported a single vehicle crash on CR 118 near the bridge. Sergeants and DPS Trooper responded to investigate. Report taken by DPS.
Complainant spoke with a Deputy in regard to a Theft of Service. Report taken for investigation.
Deputy assisted a Trooper on Hwy 290 with a traffic stop.
Deputy assisted GPD in locating a reckless driver on Hwy 290.
Deputy spoke with a citizen in regard to a civil matter.
Motorist reported a tire in the roadway at Hwy 77 near FM 1624. Deputy responded to clear the road.
Citizen reported a fire alarm alert at his ranch on CR 226. Sergeant and VFD were notified. Sergeant arrived first and did not locate any issue. VFD was disregarded.
Motorist reported tire debris on Hwy 290 East. Sergeant responded to clear the road.
GPD requested a Deputy for a sexual assault report that occurred in the County. Sergeant responded to make a report for the investigation.
7/17/2024
Deputies responded to assist DPS Trooper who had located a stolen vehicle.
Caller reported a copperhead snake in their chicken coop. Deputy called the report party to provide the phone number for animal removal service.
Dispatch received 911 call reporting a single vehicle crash on Hwy 290 East at the Giddings city limit. Sheriff, Deputies, GPD, DPS, Giddings Fire, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene. PHI medical helicopter landed at the scene.
Motorist reported a large tire in the road on Hwy 290 near CR 205. Deputy removed the debris.
Caller reported a structure fire on FM 141 near CR 430. Deputies, Dime Box and Giddings VFD were notified. It was later confirmed to be a controlled burn.
Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked near the cemetery in Serbin. Deputy responded to investigate, all okay.
Deputies responded to FM 1697 for a verbal disturbance. Upon arrival, the offending party had fled and was not located in the area.
Deputy assisted GPD with traffic control on Hwy 290 East.
7/18/2024
Dispatch received report of a reckless driver on Hwy 77. Constable Pct. 3 located and followed the reported vehicle, but no violations were observed.
Dispatch received report of juveniles driving a golf cart on Avenue A. Constable Pct. 3 located the juveniles and made contact with their parents.
Deputy responded to a business in Lexington at 1:00am on a burglary alarm report. Deputy located an open side door, but no suspects were located. It was determined that the door was not secured by nighttime employee.
Motorist reported a silver truck stuck in the ditch on CR 303 off of FM 696 due to the heavy rain. Deputies checked by the location and a wrecker was summoned to assist the motorist.
7/19/2024
Deputy stopped out with a vehicle on the side of the road on CR 430. All was okay.
Sergeant met with a complainant at the Sheriff's Office in reference to a criminal trespass warning.
Dispatch received a call about an alarm on CR 101. Deputy made contact with homeowner.
Motorist reported horses out on FM 3403. Deputy responded, and owners were on scene.
Sergeant assisted Giddings PD with a traffic stop.
Caller reported a black mini fridge in the roadway on FM 696. Deputy responded and removed the debris from the roadway.
Deputy was dispatched to CR 119 for a noise complaint. Music was turned down.
Complainant from CR 329 reported property damage from a wreck that just occurred. Deputy responded, and advised both parties came to an agreement for the damage.
7/20/2024
Dispatch received a call about a residential alarm on FM 141. Deputy made contact with homeowner.
Sergeant and Deputy responded to a call about subjects dumping a dog on the side of CR 121. Subjects were still on scene upon arrival, and a report was taken.
Deputy assisted with a vehicle unlock on East Austin Street.
Sergeant made contact with a complainant on Inge Street in reference to a disturbance.
A property owner on CR 430 reported someone was destroying his fence. Deputy made contact with property owner, and a report was taken.
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle on CR 203. Deputy checked the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
Deputy advised he was out on CR 119 with a disabled vehicle. Roadway was cleared.
Sergeant assisted Giddings PD with locating a subject involved in an accident on East Austin Street.
A motorist reported a wreck on CR 117. Sergeant and Deputy advised one would be in custody for DWI and transported to the Jail.
Deputy assisted Giddings PD with a traffic stop on Hwy 290 at CR 200.
7/21/2024
Dispatch received a call about a vehicle driving the wrong way on Hwy 290 East. All unites responded but were unable to locate the vehicle.
A motorist reported large debris in the roadway on Hwy 290 West. Deputies checked the area but were unable to locate any debris.
Deputy assisted a stranded motorist on FM 141.
Sergeant and Deputies responded to a possible rolling disturbance on Hwy 290 traveling westbound. Vehicle was located, and no offense had occurred.
A resident on Hwy 21 East reported two suspicious subjects in the area. Deputy made contact with several residents in the area but was unable to locate the subjects.
Deputy conducted a welfare check on CR 213, and advised subject was okay.
Deputy responded to Scenic View for a noise complaint. Subjects were asked to turn down the music.
