7/1/2024

Deputy assisted a motorist with a vehicle unlock at a business in Giddings Plaza.

Citizen reported a trespasser at property on CR 213. Sergeant and Deputy located the individual who was released after an investigation.

While on patrol, Deputy located a truck that lost a load at FM 180/FM 1697. Deputy conducted traffic control until the roadway was cleared.

Motorist on SH 21 reported his truck ran over his foot and he was stuck. Sergeant, Dime Box VFD, and LCEMS were summoned to assist. Sergeant was able to help the individual, who refused EMS.

Sergeant spoke with an individual experiencing a mental health crisis.

Caller reported there were trespassers on his family property after midnight. Sergeant made scene and did not locate any trespassers. Sergeant met with the reporting party, who had an outstanding Lee County warrant. The male subject was arrested and secured in Lee County Jail.

Deputies assisted Giddings PD with a vehicle pursuit that ended near PR 2903. Deputy assisted with translation.

 

7/2/2024

Sergeant met with parties involved in a civil matter dispute on CR 311.

Motorist reported a two-vehicle crash on SH 21 just east of Hwy 77 blocking the roadway. Deputies, Trooper, Lincoln VFD, and LCEMS responded to the scene. Crash report by DPS.

Deputies and Lexington PD responded to a disturbance on CR 311 between family members. One male subject was issued a criminal trespass notice and provided a courtesy ride.

Sergeant took report from a complainant in regard to an assault family violence case.

Motorist reported a bright light from a fireworks stand on Hwy 290 East was blinding traffic. Deputy went to check on the matter and noted that there was no issue.

Deputy assisted Giddings PD with a residential burglary on Sandridge Dr.

Deputy checked out on a disabled 18-wheeler on Hwy 290 East.

 

7/3/2024 

Sheriff received a phone call reporting a suspicious male subject walking on FM 448 with an empty feed sack. Sheriff located the individual near the railroad tracks. Subject was picking up trash and was advised to stay off the roadway.

Deputy located a stalled crane blocking traffic on Hwy 77 north. Deputy conducted traffic control until the crane could be removed from the roadway.

Deputy initiated a traffic stop on FM 141. The driver was arrested on an active Lee County warrant and secured in the Lee County Jail.

Deputies assisted Pct. 2 Constable with civil process at Westwood Lane.

Motorist reported a disabled vehicle near Old Dime Box on SH 21 with the occupants appearing to be in distress. Deputy located the individuals and provided assistance.

Sergeant met with a complainant at the sheriff's office in regard to reckless driving on a private road.

Deputy spoke with a complainant who reported an unattended fire in the 5600 block of Hwy 77 north. Deputy made location and spoke with the property owner.

Deputy and Trooper responded to a vehicle vs. deer crash on Hwy 290 east.

Deputies responded to another vehicle vs. deer crash on CR 317.

 

7/4/2024

Motorist reported a large dump truck parked across the roadway at CR 324/326. Deputy responded to investigate and determined that the vehicle was parked parallel to the road by the company and was moved by an unauthorized person. Commissioner Precinct 3 responded to remove the vehicle for the company.

Reporting party stated a truck hauling hay trailer side swiped a semi which caused damage and injury. Deputies responded to the scene on FM 141 to investigate.

Dispatch received report of family disturbance on FM 3403. Deputies, LPD Chief, and Constable Pct. 3 responded to the scene. The parties who were arguing over a cell phone were separated and released.

 

7/5/2024

Deputy responded to an address on PR 8019 to issue a criminal trespass notice.

Deputy met with a complainant on CR 405 in regard to a scam.

Sergeant assisted stranded motorist on SH 21.

Deputy met with a complainant at the sheriff's office in regard to trespassing. Deputy issued a criminal trespass notice.

Caller reported excessive smoke at CR 203/204. Deputy responded to investigate and noted it was a controlled burn.

Deputy assisted a stranded motorist at Hwy 290/CR 200 while the disabled vehicle was removed from the roadway.

Complainant from CR 419 reported that fireworks had been set and exploded in his mailbox. Deputy responded to investigate and report.

Sergeant received a call about a 10-year-old juvenile walking on CR 428. Sergeant responded to search the area but did not locate anyone.

Deputy responded to meet a complainant on Hale St. who reported someone shining lights into their windows. Close patrol in effect.

While on patrol, Deputy reported the sound of vehicles doing burn outs in the area of Lexington HS. Deputy searched the area but was unable to locate the vehicles. Deputies are reviewing security footage.

Deputy conducted a traffic stop at SH 21/FM 1624. The driver was arrested for possession of controlled substance. Deputy was assisted at the scene by a DPS Trooper.

 

7/6/2024

Reserve Deputy located a vehicle with a blown-out tire on FM 696/Sherrill Lane.

Deputy met with a complainant at the sheriff's office in regard to illegal dumping on CR 208. Report taken.

Deputies, Precinct 2 Judge, and LCEMS responded to an inquest at a residence on E. SH 21.

Citizen reported a suspicious Jeep parked in his driveway on CR 318. Deputy responded and located the Jeep and spoke with the driver, who was identified as a process server that was at the wrong address.

Deputy assisted a stranded motorist on Hwy 290 east/CR 237.

On-duty Lee County Jailers located an inmate who had made a suicide attempt in the cell. Jail staff intervened and summoned LCEMS. The inmate was transported to an out-of-county facility and cleared to return to the custody of the Lee County Jail.

Sheriff and Deputies were alerted to a belligerent male subject at the sheriff's posse arena. The individual was located, arrested, and secured in the Lee County Jail.

Complainant reported criminal mischief at his property on CR 133. The gate was damaged as a result. Deputy responded to investigate and report.

Complainant reported more illegal dumping on CR 208. Deputy responded to investigate and report. Pct. 2 Commissioner was notified of the furniture on the side of the road.

Sheriff and Deputies conducted traffic control at conclusion of sheriff's posse bull riding.

Sheriff checked on a male subject sitting in front of a closed business in Lexington. Determined to be an employee who had finished closing down for the night.

Sheriff checked on two male subjects who were parked behind the Lexington Park Building. Subjects were identified and advised of the park hours.

Sheriff checked on another male subject who was sleeping at the park. Subject was identified and advised of the park hours.

 

7/7/2024

Sheriff conducted a traffic stop after midnight on Hwy 77 north/SH 21 for a moving violation. After an investigation, the driver was arrested by Deputies for driving while intoxicated with child passengers. Children were released to a responsible party and the driver was secured in the Lee County Jail.

Sergeant responded to 8000 block of Hwy 77 north in regard to a stray dog inside a business.

Deputy met with a complainant to take a report in regard to a family disturbance on CR 314.

Deputies assisted a stranded motorist on Hwy 290.

Deputy spoke with a complainant to take a report in regard to threats from a known person.
