PASTOR BLAKE ANDERSON JOINS THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE AS CHAPLAIN
On Tuesday 9/24/2024, Pastor Blake Anderson of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings joined the Lee County Sheriff's Office as a Chaplain.
Chaplain Anderson is new to Lee County, but he is not new to public service or the Chaplain program. He has extensive experience in his calling and looks forward to continuing his service with the Sheriff's Office.
The Chaplain program is a volunteer service that provides counseling or emotional support to members of the Sheriff's Office, their families, and members of the public. A primary qualification is an interest and ability to assist the Sheriff's Office in serving the public. Chaplains are encouraged to become a familiar face around the Office and participate in ride-alongs with Deputies on patrol.
"I am proud to have Chaplain Anderson join our team here. When tragedy strikes, often times; my first phone call will be to our Chaplains. This program will supplement the services that we are able to provide to our citizens and our employees. As first responders, we see the absolute worst things in the world. I will call on our Chaplains to counsel and visit with our employees to guide and assist them in their mental health."
Chaplains for the Sheriff's Office are recruited, selected, and appointed by the Sheriff. Those interested in serving as a Chaplain, are encouraged to reach out to Sheriff Garrett Durrenberger.
IN GOD WE TRUST.
