ONE IN CUSTODY AFTER FLEEING SCENE

On July 15th at approximately 3:14pm, Lee County Deputies made contact with an individual at the Texaco Travel Plaza located at 1790 W. Austin St. The individual had been wanted for questioning in reference to illegally dumping miscellaneous debris throughout Lee County.
After making contact with the individual, he decided to flee on foot into the wooded area. A brief foot pursuit ensued and the individual was taken into custody and secured in the Lee County Jail on multiple charges. The Lee County Sheriff's Office would like to thank Giddings Police Department and Texas Department of Public Safety for their assistance.
