In the early morning hours of Thursday, February 22, 2024, Deputies of the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to three reports of vehicles which were stolen after midnight from residences on County Roads 226 and 230.

Lee County Deputies responded to similar offenses in this area on January 12, 2024.

There are multiple suspects using multiple vehicles to roam the neighborhood seeking targets of opportunity, in these cases, pickup trucks. The vehicles are stolen in a matter of seconds.

Suspect vehicle information has been collected; however, those details cannot be released due to the on-going criminal investigations. It is important to note that suspects use a wide variety of vehicles capable of transporting numerous suspects.

Our neighboring agencies who are experiencing similar cases have been contacted. The mode of operation for these crimes is the same and prevalent across our State. We urge all of our Lee County citizens to be alert and vigilant.
  • Make a nightly routine of securing all of your vehicles, homes, and outbuildings to help deter theft.
  • Report any suspicious persons/vehicles so that a Deputy can respond to locate and investigate.

Your Lee County Sheriff's Office has proactive measures in place and are further increasing the frequency of patrols to deter and prevent criminal activity in our neighborhoods. We will always include our citizens as partners, being that we all share a vested interest in our safety and security.

Respectfully yours,
