02/05/2024

Deputy responded to report of animal cruelty on FM 696 East. Deputy located the animals in question and conducted an investigation.

Deputy responded to a suspicious person on CR E. Caller reported the subject was standing in a neighbor's driveway. Deputy located the individual who was dropped off at the wrong job site.

Caller reported a septic truck parked near CR 201/202. Sergeant located a gas truck that was servicing a pipe valve near the intersection.

Caller reported an individual on Hwy 290 West involving a criminal trespass notice. Deputies met with both parties.

Caller reported a tractor dropped off on their property. Deputy responded and noted that the equipment was likely dropped at the wrong location. Information taken.

Motorist reported hitting an 18-wheeler tire on CR 430 causing damage to the vehicle. Deputy took the information for a report and checked the area on CR 430 to clear the debris.

Deputy responded to a report of a suspicious person standing at the Shady Oaks entrance. The subject was gone upon arrival.

Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle driving by a property several times on CR 309. Deputies patrolled the area; however, the vehicle was no longer in the area.

Deputy located an injured deer on FM 1624 that had to be put down due to injury. Game Warden and Wildlife Biologist were notified.

 

02/06/2024

Deputies assisted Constable Pct. 3 with civil process on CR 309.

Complainant reported missing nine head of cattle from CR 127. Deputy responded to investigate and make report.

Sergeant was flagged down while on patrol and informed of a suspicious vehicle on FM 141. Sergeant located the vehicle and made contact with the individuals involved.

Motorist reported a box truck stalled at FM 180/CR 127. Deputy responded to the scene and called for a heavy-duty wrecker to clear the roadway.

Sergeant responded to assist a citizen on FM 141 with an issue they are experiencing with their mail.

Deputies responded to a disturbance on Westwood Lane. The parties were contacted, and the verbal disturbance was resolved with the parties being separated.

Deputy met with a complainant to make a fraud report.

Motorist reported a reckless driver on SH 21 East. Deputy located and made a traffic stop on the vehicle in Lincoln.

Motorist reported a box truck stalled on CR 133. Deputy responded to investigate.

Caller reported a male subject by the gate on their property. Deputy responded and was able to locate and identify the subject. Information taken.

Deputy responded to a report of a truck and trailer parked off of FM 141. Deputy located the individuals who were stuck.

 

02/07/2024

Deputies, Trooper, Giddings Fire, and Lee County EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash on CR 205. Crash report made by DPS.

Caller on CR 433 reported 2 cows missing. Deputy responded and it was found that the livestock were located in a neighboring property behind secured gate. Deputy made attempts to contact the property owner to facilitate the return of the cattle.

Sergeant responded to CR 304A to investigate illegal dumping.

Sergeant responded to Christian Academy on CR 309 to meet with an individual.

Deputy was on a call, when flagged down to assist with a cow stuck in a fence. Cow removed, owner to follow up with veterinarian.

Caller requested a Deputy check on an animal on CR 440. Deputy responded to investigate.

Complainant reported their vehicle was taken by a known party and wanted it returned. Deputy responded and the party was advised of the vehicle location on CR 329.

Caller reported missing 30 head of cattle on CR 127. Deputy responded to investigate and make report. Information shared with local TSCRA Special Ranger.

Caller reported multiple deceased cows on property on CR 426. Deputy responded to investigate.

Sergeant responded to investigate a reported assault between juveniles on E. Austin St.

Motorist reported a one vehicle crash on FM 112. Trooper, Lexington Police, Lexington Fire, and Lee County EMS responded to the scene.

Deputy responded to Hwy 77 North to speak with a complainant about a subject who had made threats.

 

02/08/2024

Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked at St. Paul Serbin. Deputy and Sheriff responded to investigate. The vehicle required a repair and was left at the location overnight.

Motorist reported a reckless driver on SH 21 near CR 440. The vehicle was reportedly driving at a high rate of speed without a rear tire. Deputies joined DPS in locating the vehicle, which had stopped, before driving off. A pursuit ensued into Bastrop County where the driver was arrested and transported to Lee County Jail by DPS.

Caller requested a civil standby at a residence on CR 309.

Sergeant Investigator made a traffic stop at Hwy 77/CR 415 for a traffic code violation. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, narcotics were found. The vehicle was also reported stolen out of Austin. The occupants were arrested and transported to Lee County Jail.

Giddings Animal Shelter requested a Deputy for an animal cruelty report. Deputy made location to investigate and make report.

Sergeant assisted Game Warden on CR 313 with subjects spotlighting on an ATV at 2:00am.

 

02/09/2024

Deputies responded to assist CPS with a welfare check at a residence on CR 314. Report taken.

Complainant met with a Deputy regarding a civil matter involving a local business having possession of their vehicle.

Deputies responded to a verbal disturbance at a residence on PR 7016. Parties separated.

Caller reported a dog that had been shot and left on CR 316. Deputy responded to investigate and make report.

SO Bastrop CO reported a pursuit of a vehicle coming into Lee County on North County Line Road. BCSO later reported that the pursuit was terminated as units lost visual of the vehicle.

Caller reported an assault at a residence on FM 696 West. The suspect reportedly fled the scene. Deputies responded to investigate and make report.

 

02/10/2024

Dispatch received a transfer from Rockdale PD reporting a suspicious motorcycle on CR 415. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate.

Motorist reported a one vehicle crash on SH 21/CR 426. Deputy, Trooper, and Dime Box Fire responded to the scene. DPS made crash report.

Caller reported a reckless driver on CR 203. Deputies and Trooper responded to the area, and the vehicle was located. Driver was arrested for DWI and transported to Lee County Jail by DPS.

Sheriff and Deputy made a walk through at Dime Box dance.

Deputies responded to a noise disturbance on FM 1624. The source of the noise was located, and minors were issued citations for possession of alcohol and released to parents.

 

02/11/2024

Deputies responded to crisis intervention call.

Caller requested to speak with a Deputy regarding a civil matter.

Sheriff received a call about a suspicious white older model Ford pickup driving slowly on CR 117. Deputy responded to patrol the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

Dispatch received a report of a possible intruder at a property on CR 309. Caller found weather debris on the roof and called to cancel a response. Deputies responded to ensure everything was okay.

Deputies handled numerous loose livestock calls and made 83 traffic stops for this reporting period.
